Fishing Boat For Sale

I am considering making a pontoon boat using kegs as pontoons. Is it possible? I can weld aluminum. Are empty kegs buoyant enough?

I am planning to build a pontoon boat using PVC pipes. It would be used on a salt water harbour in southern New Zealand. Does PVC do OK in salt water in the long term though? I plan to have the boat moored in the bay permanently.

i installed an fm radio in an aluminum fishing boat. i mounted it in the side of the dry box ( also aluminum). i also installed the antenna on the same dry box. with the dry box lid open, my reception is great. when i shut the lid i lose all reception. what is the problem?
antenna is OUTSIDE the box. i drilled a hole in the box for the wire to run to the radio. the radio face is also outside the box, i cut a hole in the box so the face is outside and the bulk of the radio hangs on the inside
i used an auto radio. who would use an AC stereo in a boat?

I have pontoon boat and I want to mount a fishfinder on my console. I believe the console is fiberglass that is about 1/8 inch thick. The fishfinder mount is a bracket with four holes in it to insert screws (no screws came with the bracket). The holes can take a #8 or #10 screw.

After a quick check of the hardware store, I see that I could use (a) machine screw with nut, (b) thread forming screw, or (c) thread cutting screw. The thread forming and thread cutting screws interested me. When do I use them?
